32 million records compromised in 95 security incidents in November 2022

Itgovernance reports that that in November there were 95 breaches resulting in 32,051,144 records being affected. What is significant is almost half of the records affected came from 2 data breaches, Whoosh and Twitter.

Welcome to our November 2022 review of data breaches and cyber attacks. We identified 95 security incidents throughout the month, accounting for 32,051,144 breached records.
Almost half of that figure comes from two incidents. The first was a data breach at Twitter, in the latest PR disaster for the social media giant. Reports emerged late last week that user records were stolen using an API vulnerability that has since been fixed.
The second was a cyber attack on the Russian scooter-sharing service Whoosh, which was discovered after customers’ data was put up for sale on the dark web.

- the Russian scooter sharing service Whoosh having 7.2 million of its records stolen and sold on line;
- Twitter losing 5.4 million users data being leaked on line with more privately;

- Cyber attack at Spain’s General Council of the Judiciary affecting 550,000;
- Malaysian Electoral Commission affecting 800,000;
- Health Care Management Solutions reports security breach involving 500,000 records
- Vodafone Italydata breach security breaches affecting 295,000
- Salud Family Health suffers breach involving 400,000;
- Michigan prosthetics and orthotics provider discloses ransomware attack involving 877,584.
- Puerto Rico’s Doctors Center Hospital reports patients affected by ransomware attack involving 1.2 million
- Wright & Filippis files notice of data breach after being targeted by ransomware involving 877,000
- Receivables Performance Management reports data breach following March ransomware attack involving 3.7 million
- Community Health Network notifies patients of meta pixel breach involving 1.5 million.
